Guerrilla typography by Cardon copy. from idsgn.
Following his mother's advice: “Leave it better than the way you found it,” Cardon took to the streets of New York City finding uninspired eyesores and treating them to an extreme makeover. Replacing the handwritten (or at best, Micosoft Word-created) posters with typographic works of art.
Cardon Copy, takes the vernacular of self-distributed fliers and tear-offs we have all seen in our neighborhoods. It involves hijacking these unconsidered fliers and redesigning them, over powering their message with a new visual language. I then replace the original with the redesign in its authentic environment.

it's hard to pick a favorite, the crazy eye guy waving a fish at pigeons, or the super fat dude at the end. mental.
some classics. I absolutely love Cornelius, he always takes the time to make beautifully realised and engaging videos, fit song is still one of my all time favorite promos. beautiful stuff.
October 2009: Facilitating a first ever collaboration between The Inoue Brothers and confidante of the late downtown NYC artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, “The High Priest” Nicholas Taylor, St Martins Lane announces a photographic exhibition Jean-Michel Basquiat through Nicholas Taylor, which will take place in Front Room from 5th October – 1st November 2009.
Paying homage to the artist from a candid new perspective, the collection of photographs magnify a remarkable creative relationship between Taylor and Basquiat that emerged from experimental 1980s band GRAY consisting of Taylor, Basquiat, Michael Holman and Vincent Gallo, declared at the time by Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine as ‘possibly the best band on the planet’. Capturing the spirit of the late 70s and early 80s downtown NYC art scene, Front Room will house a unique collection of photographs shot by both Taylor and Basquiat with images from the Mudd club and GRAY performing at various venues in down town NYC.
